There is no timer ticking against you in the classic mode, so the pressure comes from running out of room, not running out of time. That small design choice is why the game travels so well. A round can last twenty seconds while you wait for a bus or stretch into a long combo chase when you are settled on the couch. The board reads instantly, the moves are obvious, and the satisfying part is the planning a few pieces ahead so a single placement clears two lines at once. It is the kind of game people open without thinking and then keep open far longer than they meant to.
