What is *NA WhatsApp*
---------------------

NA WhatsApp is a third-party modified version of WhatsApp built by the Egyptian developer Nasser Al-Jaidi. It runs on the same `com.whatsapp` account system as the official app, so your number and chats work the same way. What it adds is a layer of privacy and personalization that the standard build leaves out. Most people install it for one reason. They want tighter control over what other people can see, more theming options, or handy tools like a chat translator and a view-once media saver.

It is not made by WhatsApp LLC, and you will not find it on Google Play. This is a community build that ships as a standalone APK, so it installs alongside or in place of the official client depending on which package you keep. Because it changes a Meta-owned app, it lives outside the official ecosystem. That is the trade-off to weigh before you install it.

The official WhatsApp is still free, end-to-end encrypted, and the safer default for most people. NA WhatsApp suits a narrower crowd that wants the extra customization and does not mind sideloading an unofficial build to get it. If plain messaging is all you need, the regular app handles that without the added risk.

What this *mod* offers
----------------------

The NA WhatsApp build keeps the core messaging flow intact and stacks optional controls on top. None of these change how messages get sent. They change what you can hide, customize, and save.

- **Anti-ban handling.**The build ships with anti-ban patches meant to lower the chance of an account flag when you run a non-official client. No mod can promise this works, but it is the headline feature most users come for.
- **Granular privacy toggles.**Hide your last seen, blue ticks, typing status, and recording indicator, either per contact or for everyone, while still seeing other people’s status updates.
- **Themes and interface styling.**A built-in theme store with custom colors, fonts, and chat backgrounds, so the interface can look nothing like the stock green layout.
- **In-app translator and DND mode.**Translate incoming messages right inside a chat. There is also a do-not-disturb toggle that cuts the app off from the network without closing it.
- **Save view-once and status media.**Keep photos and videos that were sent as view-once, and save contacts’ status updates straight to your phone without a screen recorder.
- **Higher media and forwarding limits.**Send larger files and forward to more chats at once than the stock limits allow.

How to *install*
----------------

NA WhatsApp installs through the normal Android sideload flow. Back up your chats from the official app first if you plan to migrate, because switching clients can affect your local message history.

1. **Back up your chats**In the official WhatsApp, open Settings, then Chats, then Chat backup, and run a backup so your history is saved before you switch.
2. **Download the APK file**Tap the download button on this page. The file lands in your default Downloads folder.
3. **Allow installs from this source**Open Settings, search for `Install unknown apps`, find your browser or file manager, and turn the permission on.
4. **Open the downloaded APK**Tap the file in Downloads. Android’s package installer opens and shows the permissions it wants.
5. **Verify your number**Launch the app, enter your phone number, and finish the SMS verification just like you would in the official client.
6. **Restore and finish setup**Restore your earlier backup if it asks, then set your name and you are done.
