Rumors about Samsung working on a lite version of the flagship Galaxy S10 has acquired credibility as the alleged handset went past the Geekbench benchmarking database recently. The benchmarking of the phone also confirmed some key specs which were so far being rumored.

Although the Geekbench database didn’t confirm the moniker of the device, it is shown bearing the model number “SM-G770”- the same model number reported by SamMobile as the Galaxy S10 Lite earlier this month.

As per details spotted on the Geekbench, the Galaxy S10 Lite is powered by 1.78GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core SoC which is there inside the Galaxy S10 lineup in some regions. The smartphone also packs 8GB RAM, which is more than the Galaxy S10e.

As for the performance scores, the alleged Galaxy S10 Lite notched up 742 and 2,604 points in single-core and multi-core tests, respectively. The scores are better than what the regular Galaxy S10 had achieved.

The alleged Galaxy S10 Lite is also shown running Android 10. Expectedly, the One UI 2.0 will be layered on top. The specs of the phone revealed by the Geekbench broadly match with the rumored specs of the upcoming Galaxy A91. The latter is speculated to come with a 6.7-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855 SoC, 8GB RAM, and 128GB internal storage with a dedicated microSD card slot for further expansion up to 512GB.

There is no info about the camera configuration on the Galaxy S10 Lite so far. However, for a perspective, the Galaxy A91 is likely to board a triple-rear camera setup with a 48MP primary camera and a 32MP selfie shooter on the front. The smartphone is also expected to include a 4,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.

It is not known how the Galaxy S10 Lite will look like, but a previous leak has given away about the paint jobs of the phone. It will be sporting Prism White, Black, and Blue colors.

All said and done, Samsung is yet to put across any statement about the alleged Galaxy S10 Lite. But the phone stopping by Geekbench signals its very existence. The phone, however, will take some time to launch. It will most likely arrive after the launch of the Galaxy S11 lineup as Samsung usually introduces its flagship lineup with the latest version of Android. The Galaxy S11 lineup is tipped to be announced on February 18 next year.

Apart from the Galaxy S10 Lite, there have been rumors that Samsung will also bring an affordable version of the Galaxy Note 10- the Galaxy Note 10 Lite. The specs of the latter are not known as yet, but according to SamMobile the Galaxy Note 10 Lite is on its way to Europe and will be available in Black and Red color options.
