In terms of premium flagships, Samsung is done for this year as it has already launched the Galaxy S10 and Note 10 series along with the much-awaited Galaxy Fold. And now the world’s biggest smartphone manufacturer has begun focusing on the next year.
The first offering in the premium flagship, as usual, will be the Galaxy S11 series and reportedly it will launch in the third week of February 2020.
Usually, the Galaxy S-series launches in February every year. The previous Galaxy S10 lineup was unveiled on February 20, 2019. But next year, the Galaxy S11 series is tipped to launch a couple of days earlier.
According to a report, published in Sammobile, the Galaxy S11 series is slated to launch on February 18 next year at the Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, US. However, the report is based on an unnamed source.
The details about the Galaxy S11 are scarce at this moment and still might take a couple of weeks before anything substantial emerges. Nevertheless, the rumor mill has picked up some tidbits about the upcoming flagship already.
As per the rumor, the Galaxy S11 is in the works bearing a codename “Picasso” and will debut with One UI 2.1 based on Android 10. A new feature called the Focus Mode that will silence the distracting apps for the users will also be introduced with the device.
Besides that, the Galaxy S11 will make use of its own 108MP ISOCELL HMX sensor along with a periscope-style camera with 5x optical zoom and optical zoom stabilization (OIS).
Since Samsung is rumored to be doing away with the Galaxy Note series from 2020, the iconic Note series-specific S Pen functionality might make it to the Galaxy S11. Other expected things include up to 1TB storage and the same premium svelte design as the Galaxy S10. There is a slim chance that 3.5mm headphone jack will stage a comeback.
However, not everything is set on stone, not even the alleged launch date. We must take these things with a pinch of salt for now. For more such updates in the future, stay tuned with us.
