The HUAWEI Mate 30 series which is not going to debut until later this year has already started surfacing in leaks and rumors, though the company mired in a trade dispute with the US has so far been keeping every information related to the upcoming flagship close to its chest.

Amidst the grapevine buzzing, an alleged render of the upcoming HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro has appeared on the Chinese microblogging site, Weibo that shows off the handset in Emerald Green colored rear with a gradient design.

Apart from showing the curved edges, HUAWEI branding, and possibly a USB Type-C at the bottom, the render for the first time gives away that the handset will come with a quad camera module strapped on the back. And quite intriguingly, the lenses and the LED flash are situated in an eye-catching circular layout.

While it is a departure from its predecessor Mate 20 Pro, which had triple-rear-camera module fitted in a rectangular layout, it is also a sound off to rival companies that HUAWEI will remain a step ahead in terms design and innovation. Notably, Apple and Samsung are reported to be graduating to a rectangular camera layout for their next Gen flagship phones.

According to the render, the circular camera setup is Leica-branded, consisting of a large sensor in the center flanked by two other sensors on the left and a sensor and a LED flash on the right. The layout sports a scissor-style design.

The render also confirms that the smartphone will have 5x optical zoom support versus 2x optical zoom found in the Mate 20 Pro. There is no inkling as of now about what type of sensors in what resolution will form the camera module, though. To note, the HUAWEI P30 Pro’s rectangular-shaped periscope lens is oddly missing in the camera setup.

Since the render is clear and looks detailed it seems credible but its veracity can’t be established completely, so we advise our readers to take this revelation as a grain of salt for now.

If we lend ears to existing rumors, the HUAWEI Mate 3 Pro is likely to pick HiSilicon Kirin 985 SoC capable of using Belong 5000 modem for 5G support. Other salient aspects might include a 6.71-inch AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint sensor and a 4,200mAh battery with whopping 55W fast charging support.
