Following the rumors, the HUAWEI Y9s has gone official, and it looks to be the rebranded version of the Honor 9X Pro, albeit with a toned-down processor. The smartphone is currently listed on HUAWEI’s official website with key specifications and features. The HUAWEI Y9s is a mid-range oriented phone with 48MP triple rear camera setup and 4,000mAh battery as the highlights

Design-wise, the smartphone resembles the Honor 9X Pro having a notch-free screen, pop-up selfie camera, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner embedded into the power button. The smartphone comes with a glass back design and an aluminum frame separating the front and back panel.

The back of the phone shines with light falling on it from different angles. Additionally, the 3D arc design adds to its ergonomic design. The smartphone is listed with Midnight Black and Breathing Crystal colors.

The HUAWEI Y9s is built around a 6.59-inch full HD+ 1080×2340 LCD screen with a 91% screen-to-body ratio and 391 PPI pixel density. Powering the phone is the in-house Kirin 710F octa-core SoC compared to the Kirin 810 SoC fueling the Honor 9X Pro. It must be noted that HUAWEI recently launched the HUAWEI Enjoy 10 with the same Kirin 710F processor.

The HUAWEI Y9s packs 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card.

In terms of camera, the HUAWEI Y9s mounts a triple camera array on the back in a vertical layout. The cameras include 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor, 8MP f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. A 16MP f/2.2 selfie shooter is attached to the pop-up camera slider.

The Huawei Y9s boots Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9.1 slapped on top. A 4,000mAh battery with a 10W charging facility keeps the phone ticking. The charge is drawn via USB Type-C port.

Other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio, etc. The smartphone weighs 206 grams and measures 163.1×77.2×8.8mm in dimension.

The smartphone has already launched in Iraq with a price tag of $239. Further, it is rumored to see the light in Pakistan very soon at an expected price tag of PKR34,999 (Approx.USD223). However, the company is yet to reveal its plan for unveiling the phone in other markets.
