iQOO 3 to launch with SD 865 SoC and 64MP quad rear camera

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is all geared up to launch a new smartphone called the iQOO 3. Although the company hasn’t

Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO is all geared up to launch a new smartphone called the iQOO 3. Although the company hasn’t revealed the specific name of the upcoming phone, a poster on Weibo has given it away.

The smartphone, is, however, still to get an exact launch date but given that the smartphone has already cleared TENNA and Geekbench databases it is no doubt quite imminent.

If we talk about the TENNA listing the smartphone in question was benchmarked with the model number V1955A. It was listed with a 6.44-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, however.

Under the hood, the smartphone is fueled by a 2.84GHz octa-core chip alleged to be the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 865 SoC. The processor will tick alongside 6GB/8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB default storage. The smartphone doesn’t seem to have an additional storage facility.

In terms of optics, the iQOO 3 mounts 64MP+13MP+13MP+2MP quad-rear-camera array. Upfront, a 16MP selfie shooter gets a place inside the hole-punch cutout which will be top-right aligned according to recently leaked renders of the phone. TENNA also lists iQOO 3 with a 4,370mAh battery.

On the other hand, when the Geekbench listing is considered, the smartphone showed up with the model number VIVO I1927, likely to be a variant for the Indian market. The database lists an octa-core “Kona” SoC with 1.8GHz base frequency, this again hints at a possible Snapdragon 865 SoC.

Regarding performance, Geekbench records the 914 single-core scores and 3,127 multi-core scores for the iQOO 3. Other specs of the phone getting a mention are 8GB RAM and Android 10.

Although the exact launch date is not revealed, a new post on Weibo has popped up saying the iQOO 3 will launch in February with UFS 3.1 storage facility.

As of now, there is no inkling about the pricing of the iQOO 3. Nevertheless, taking a look at the supposed specs the smartphone will be a premium one. But rest assured, iQOO is known for offering its devices at an affordable price. For a perspective, its last smartphone, the iQOO Neo 855 with Snapdragon 855 SoC, was launched in October last year at a starting price of about $280.
