Following multiple leaks and rumors, MEIZU’s flagship, the MEIZU 16T has finally been launched in China on Wednesday. It comes with striking design, triple-rear cameras, and robust internals. Moreover, the smartphone is priced quite aggressively, starting upwards of CNY1,999 which converts to about $280 only.
The smartphone features a 6.5-inch OLED screen that is bereft of any notch or punch-hole cutout. The selfie camera, earpiece and other sensors are housed in the forehead which is slimmer compared to the conventional bezels.
The display brags 1080×2232 full HD+ resolution, 18.5:9 aspect ratio, and TUV certification to obstruct the blue light emission. Underneath, the screen also wields an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The MEIZU 16T is underpinned by a powerful Snapdragon 855 SoC that is paired with Adreno 640 GPU, up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB built-in UFS 3.0 storage. There is no provision for storage expansion via microSD card, however.
The smartphone runs Flyme OS 8 based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box while a 4,500mAh battery with 18W mCharge fast charging support keeps the juice flowing.
As far as the camera loadout is concerned, the MEIZU 16T mounts a triple-rear-camera setup that includes a 12MP f/1.9 primary sensor flanked by a 5MP depth sensor and an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle sensor. The front is laced with a 16MP f/2.2 selfie shooter.
The phone comes with dual stereo speakers and the game mode 4.0. The connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 5, and 3.5mm headphone jack.
The MEIZU 16T measures 159.63×78.2×8.2mm and tips the scales at 183 grams. It will be available in three color options such as Green, Orange, and Blue.
The smartphone is already up for preorders from today in China while the sale will commence starting October 28. The 6GB+128GB model is priced at CNY1,999 (Approx. USD280) while the 8GB+128GB model is set for CNY2,229 (Approx. USD315). The top-end 8GB+256GB model costs CNY2,499 (Approx. USD350).
The company has confirmed the MEIZU 16T will be carried over to the Indian market soon. However, it is not clear if the smartphone will also make it to the other international markets. So, stay tuned for future updates in this regard.
