Following up on the Mi CC9 Xiaomi has launched the Mi CC9 Pro in China with a Penta camera setup on the back that houses world’s first 108MP camera. Besides that, the smartphone is also packed with impressive specs and features at affordable pricing.
The Mi CC9 Pro is launched in three memory bundles. The 6GB RAM+128GB storage model is priced at CNY2,799 (Approx. USD400) while the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model is set for CNY3,099 (Approx. USD442). There is a top-tier variant as well with 8GB RAM+256GB storage configuration costing CNY3,499 (Approx. USD499).
The smartphone has glass body design with aluminum frame separating the Gorilla Glass 5 protected front and back panels. The phone spans 6.47 inches diagonally and has a curved edge OLED screen with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 600 nits brightness, and HDR 10 support.
A Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G SoC pumps power from under the hood. The SoC is in the powerful league as it is considered a water-downed version of the flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC. The smartphone packs up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB internal storage. There is no storage expansion facility, however.
The back mounts five cameras in a vertical layout with two LED flash module. The setup features a 108MP f/1.69 Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX primary sensor as the main camera paired with a 20MP f/2.2 wide-angle camera with a 117-degree field of view and a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
The other two cameras rounding off the Penta camera setup include a 5MP (up-scaled up to 8MP) telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a 2MP f/2.4 macro camera that captures shots from as close as 2cm. On the front, a 32MP f/2.0 selfie shooter with HDR support resides inside the tiny water-drop notch.
The camera of the Mi CC9 Pro has registered a DxOMark score of 121 on the universal camera benchmark for the still photography, sharing the top slot with the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro ahead of the likes of the Galaxy Note 10+ and the Pixel 4.
The smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner besides having the face unlock feature for biometrics. The smartphone runs MIUI 11 based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. A beefy 5,260mAh battery ticks inside fueling the phone to 58% in just 30 minutes and 100% in 65 minutes with the help of the 30W fast charging tech via USB Type-C port.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro will go on sale starting November 11 in China in Dark Night Phantom, Ice and Snow Aurora, and Magical Green color options. The smartphone will debut in the International market as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 on November 6, possibly with a change in the processor.
