The mysterious Motorola phone with a pop-up camera that surfaced in live photos earlier this month has now been reported to have got a name for it, and it is “Motorola One Hyper”. The branding somewhat aligns with our prediction that the phone might belong to the Moto G or the Motorola One series and not to the Z series as speculated by some others.

According to a report by XDA Developers, the Motorola One Hyper is the most likely moniker that will be given to the yet unnamed phone. Aside from predicting the name XDA Developers also confirmed that the smartphone would run the latest Android flavor, Android 10 without any customization on top.

There is no reason given as to why the phone gets the “Hyper” moniker. The smartphone doesn’t seem to have loaded with ‘hyper’ sort of specs after all. If anything, it is the 64MP rear- camera and the pop-up selfie camera mechanism- a first for any Motorola phones- come closer to justify the branding.

As of now, there is no inkling when the alleged Motorola One Hyper will make its debut, but the phone has already started walking through the rumor mill revealing its specs, almost entirely.

The smartphone will rock a 6.3-inch 19.5:9 FHD+ LCD display without any notch or hole-punch cutout. The selfie camera of 32MP resolution will be integrated into the pop-up slider at the top of the phone. The rear will have a dual-camera setup comprising a 64MP primary sensor and an 18MP secondary sensor.

Ticking inside will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The smartphone will derive fuel from a 3,600mAh battery.

As per the previously leaked renders of the Motorola One Hyper, the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner will no longer be embedded into the Motorola batwing logo. In contrast, a glowing LED ring for notifications will surround the standalone fingerprint scanner.

All said and done, Motorola is yet to confirm the smartphone or the launch date for it officially. Hopefully, it will spill the beans in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the Lenovo-owned company is launching the Moto G8 series of phones in Brazil tomorrow. Also, it is gearing up to launch the Motorola RAZR 2019 foldable phone on November 13. So, Motorola is bringing a lot of phones to the table for us this year.
