For example, the Motorola One Action launched in August this year with GoPro-like ultra-wide-angle Action camera followed by the Motorola One Zoom at IFA 2019 with a telephoto lens capable of 3x optical zoom and 12x hybrid zoom.
And today, the Lenovo-owned company has launched a new One-series smartphone, the Motorola One Macro, which, as the name implies, is geared towards macro photography. The macro sensor is part of a triple camera setup on the back. Other than that, the smartphone comes with an Helio P70 octa-core processor and a 4,000mAh battery.
The Motorola One Macro is an entry-level device that debuted in India today with a price tag of INR9,999 (Approx. USD140/EUR128) for the single 4GB RAM+64GB storage variant. The smartphone goes on sale starting October 12 in Blue Space paint job.
A global launch will be announced on October 24, after which the device will hit the markets in Europe, Latin America, and the US.
The Motorola One Macro features a 6.2-inch 1520x720p HD+ LCD display with a water-drop notch and 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
For the stamina, the Motorola One Macro is fitted with a 12nm MediaTek Helio P70 octa-core SoC. The smartphone packs Mali G72 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB built-in storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card in a shared SIM slot.
Regarding the optics, the Motorola One Macro mounts a 2MP f/2.2 macro sensor at the back, which can focus as close as 2cm with 1. 75µm pixels. It is also equipped with swift laser autofocus. The other two sensors include a 13MP f/2.0 primary sensor and a 2MP f/2.2 depth sensor.
The rear camera module is capable of 3x digital zoom and 1080p video recording at 60fps (slow-mo at 120fbs). An 8MP f/2.2 selfie shooter is housed in the water-drop notch, doubling as Face Unlock. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, for the biometrics.
The device runs a stock version of Android Pie along with Moto Experiences. There is a 4,000mAh battery equipped with 10W fast charging support that supplies fuel to the device.
Standard connectivity options are 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone measures 157.6×75.41×8.99mm and tips the scales at 186 grams. The similarly-priced Galaxy M10s, the Realme 5, the Lenovo K10 Plus, etc. are few of the smartphones that will pose competition to the Motorola One Macro.
