The world’s fastest charging smartphone is here. A 4,000mAh battery inside it charges the phone to 100% in just 30 minutes. We are talking about the new flagship from OPPO, the OPPO Reno Ace which makes use of 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Fast Charge technology that was announced recently in China.
Other than the fastest charging tech, the OPPO Reno Ace comes with Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, 90Hz display, and 48MP quad-rear camera. Alongside the premium OPPO Reno Ace, the company has also launched a mid-ranger, the OPPO K5, which comes with a Snapdragon 730G SoC and 64MP quad-camera setup.
Pricing and Availability
The OPPO Reno Ace starts at CNY3,199 (Approx. USD449/EUR407) for the 8GB RAM+128GB storage model going up to CNY3,799 (Approx. USD533/EUR483) for the top-end 12GB RAM+256GB storage model. The intermediate model with the 8GB RAM+256GB storage configuration is priced at CNY3,399 (Approx. USD477/EUR432).
The OPPO K5, on the other hand, will be available at CNY1,899 (Approx. USD266/EUR242) for the 6GB RAM+128GB storage model. The 8GB RAM+128GB and the 8GB RAM+256GB variants are priced at CNY2,099 (Approx. USD294/EUR261) and CNY2,499 (Approx. USD350/EUR318), respectively.
The Reno Ace will be available in Psychedelic Purple and Starry Blue color options while the OPPO K5 will come in Green, White, and Blue gradient colors. The OPPO Reno Ace will go on sale starting October 16 while the OPPO K5 will hit the shelves a day later, on October 17.
OPPO Reno Ace Specs
The OPPO Reno Ace is an up-gradation over the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom which was launched earlier this year. The Reno Ace is configured with a Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.0 built-in storage.
It features a 6.5-inch full HD+ AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, and a water-drop notch that contains a 16MP selfie shooter.
On the rear, the smartphone mounts a quad-camera setup with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor along with a 13MP telephoto sensor with 5x hybrid zoom. The other two sensors, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with 116-degree field of view and a 2MP monochrome sensor round off the quad-camera array.
A 4,000mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Fast Charge technology charges the phone to brim in just 30 minutes over USB Type-C port. A mere 5 minutes of charging time ensures 27% battery fuel as well. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC support, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
OPPO K5 Specs
The OPPO K5 is the successor to the OPPO K3 launched earlier this year. The smartphone is lit by a 6.4-inch AMOLED display having full HD+ resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, a water-drop notch, and in-display fingerprint scanner.
It is underpinned by a Snapdragon 730G octa-core SoC which is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB default storage.
Similar to the Realme XT, the OPPO K5 is tacked on with a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 primary sensor at the back as part of the quad-camera setup. The other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Upfront, a 32MP selfie shooter lies housed inside the water-drop notch.
The OPPO K5 is also equipped with a 4,000mAh battery supported by a 30W VOOC 4.0 Fast Charge tech that enables the cell to fill 100% in about 73 minutes.
