In recent months the mobile charging standard across different manufactures has improved leaps and bounds. The recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ came with 45W Fast Charging support while the Vivo NEX 3 featured 44W Ultrafast Charging. OPPO seems to have gone a step ahead as it announced the 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charging 2.0.
The SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0 is the second generation technology after the SuperVOOC Fast Charge was first debuted with the OPPO Find X last year.
The 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0 will put all the other Fast Charge technologies from other OEMs to shame since it is claimed to charge a 4,000mAh battery to 100 percent in just 30 minutes. Also, in just 5 minutes it is capable of juicing the battery up to 27% which will be pretty handy in emergencies.
The incredibly fast 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0 uses Gallium Nitride (GaN) semiconductors that cut down the charging time in a significant way while keeping the adapter size short as well. The company also said it uses five safety protection measures throughout the adapter, wire, and handset so that there happens no mishap.
What makes the 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0 special is the fact that it is ready to ship. It will come on board the OPPO Reno Ace which is slated to see the daylight on October 10. Xiaomi’s 100W Super Charge Turbo and Vivo’s 120W Super Flashcharge, although demoed, are still not close to shipping with the actual devices.
Apart from the flagship-level 65W SuperVOOC Fast Charge 2.0, OPPO has also unveiled two other flash charge technologies: VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 and 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge.
The VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 charge a 4,000mAh battery to 67 percent in 30 minutes and 100 percent in 73 minutes. The VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 is 12 percent faster than the current VOOC 3.0. OPPO also said it has used optimized VFC algorithm to quicken the last 10 percent charging. The VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 is also ready to launch with the upcoming OPPO K5, a successor to the OPPO K3.
On the other hand, the 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge enables a 4,000mAh battery within 80 minutes. It is compatible with Qi-standard and backward compatible with 5W and 10W. As per OPPO, it has adopted several hardware designs to avoid overheating. The new charging wireless technology quickly detects foreign metal objects on charging board, whereupon it stops the charging. It is, however, not revealed as of now which OPPO smartphone will first include the 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge.
The 30W Wireless VOOC Flash Charge is set to compete with Xiaomi’s new Mi Charge Turbo 30W wireless technology while the VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 will rival the 27W Mi Turbo Wired Charging.
