Last year Xiaomi caught everybody by surprise when it launched the POCO F1 packing previous year’s flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC at a jaw-dropping price of USD300 only. The phone quickly registered as one of the fastest-selling smartphones, making a strong case for a follow-up.

However, it’s been more than a year now, and the POCO F1 is still to get a successor, allegedly the POCO F2, though the latter has cropped up in the rumor mill a couple of times.

The most credible of all the leaks was Xiaomi India’s in-house discussion image featuring a whiteboard at the background which had POCO F2 written over against the number 11, indicating a possible November launch.

It seems that was true since the cases of the alleged POCO F2 have gone on to be listed on Spigen website. Mashable India spotted the listing though it has now been taken down.

Spigen is a leading case manufacturer of smartphones; therefore, it might have possibly obtained the design of the smartphone in advance. The listing itself confirms that the POCO F2 exists in real and might see the daylight soon.

The phone with the moniker of the Pocophone F2 was listed in Liquid Crystal and Rugged Armor cases. The cases clearly show off a smartphone design with a notch-less display, a pop-up selfie camera, and a triple-rear-camera set up in a vertical alignment at the center of the upper portion of the back panel.

It must be said that the POCO F2 has a similar design language as the Redmi K20 Pro. The latter launched a few months back by Xiaomi as the mid-premium offering sporting a flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 8GB RAM, 48MP triple-rear camera, and 4000mah battery with 27W fast charging support.

Despite the POCO F2 leaking on a few occasions, Xiaomi is yet to confirm if the phone is in the works. In a time when successors to smartphones are arriving within six months of launch, the long delay happening in the case of the POCO F2 seems strange.

If anything, Xiaomi may have held up the launch of the POCO F2 for the reason that an early availability might have cannibalized the sales of the Redmi K20 Pro as well as the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Now that the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi Note 8 Pro are already out in the wild for quite some time the company will likely go ahead with the POCO F2.

About the POCO F2 specs, everything is veiled in mystery as of now. Nevertheless, unlike the POCO F1 which had a plastic body, the POCO F2 is expected to sport a premium glass or metal body design.

The listing also hinted at the possibility of the POCO F2 Pro alongside the regular POCO F2. If that is the case, the former will be more prone to get the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC with up to 8GB or 12GB RAM. A 64MP primary camera will likely make the cut in both the versions, given that the sensor has already made it to the mid-range Redmi Note 8 Pro.
