OPPO’s spin-off brand Realme, which is one of the fastest-growing smartphone vendors in the Indian market, has stepped up its expansion plan for Europe. In that bid, today it has launched the premium-spec’ed Realme X2 Pro that debuted just today morning in China.
The Realme X2 Pro is the first device from the company to compete in the premium segment yet with a mouthwatering affordable price. It starts just at EUR399 but manages to offer Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC, 90Hz AMOLED display, 64MP quad-rear camera, up to UFS 3.0 storage, and 50W SuperVOOC fast charging.
Along with the Realme X2 Pro, the company has also announced the availability of the Realme X2 and Realme 5 Pro for the European market. With a bunch of smartphones at affordable prices, Realme is trying to compete against Xiaomi and Samsung in the region.
Realme X2 Pro
Talking about the Realme X2 Pro, there is a 6.5-inch full HD+ Fluid Super AMOLED display with a water-drop notch. The display supports 90Hz refresh rate similar to OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T/7T Pro. It comes with 20:9 aspect ratio, HDR 10+ and DC dimming 2.0 technology.
Mated to up to 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC pumps power from under the hood. There is no facility for microSD card, and the low-end 6GB RAM+64GB variant comes with usual UFS 2.1 storage.
The camera loadout at the back includes a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 primary sensor alongside a 13MP telephoto sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. A 16MP selfie camera lives inside the water-drop notch.
The smartphone boots ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. A 4,000mAh battery keeps the fuel running inside the phone. The battery is equipped with 50W SuperVOOC fast charging that fills the battery to 100% in just 35 minutes.
The Realme X2 Pro will be available in early November with a price tag of EUR399 for the 6GB+64GB model and EUR449 for the 8GB+128GB model. The top-end 12GB+256GB model will retail at EUR499.
The Realme X2, on the other hand, is the pared-down version of the Realme X2 Pro which gets a Snapdragon 730 SoC coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB default storage based on UFS 2.1. The phone has quad-rear-camera setup that flaunts the same 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor from the Realme X2 Pro paired with an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The Realme X2 has a 32MP selfie shooter inside the water-drop notch culled on a 6.4-inch full HD+ AMOLED display. There is the same 4,000mAh battery, but it is supported by 30W fast charger which charges the battery to 67% in 30 minutes. The smartphone will go on sale starting October 29 priced at EUR3000 for the single 8GB+128GB variant.
Realme 5 Pro
The Realme 5 Pro is further toned down compared to the Realme X2. It features a 6.3-inch full HD+ IPS LCD (not AMOLED) display with a water-drop notch. There is quad-rear camera no doubt, but a 48MP Sony IMX sensor leads the show here. The other three sensors are the same from the Realme X2. The front tacks on a 16MP selfie shooter.
Under the hood, the Realme 5 Pro is driven by a Snapdragon 712 SoC in alliance with 4GB//8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with up to 256GB expandability support via a dedicated microSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 4,035mAh battery armed with 20W fast charging, which is capable of charging the phone to 50% in 30 minutes.
The Realme 5 Pro starts at EUR199 for the 4GB+128GB model and EUR249 for the 8GB+128GB model. The smartphone will go on sale beginning October 18.
