The Redmi Note 8 is set to launch on August 29 in China along with Redmi’s first-ever smart TV called the Redmi TV which will rock a 70-inch screen. And even before the launch, it seems the Redmi Note 8 smartphone will be another record-breaking offering from the company.

The Redmi Note 8 series that includes the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro crossed more than one million pre-registrations in a day in China signifying that the Note 8 series is highly awaited by the fans just like the Note 7 series which recently crossed the milestone of 20 million units sold worldwide.

So far, ahead of August 29 launch, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is already confirmed to come with quad-rear-camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, thus becoming first smartphone set to launch with Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP sensor. The Redmi Note 8 Pro will also be able to support 25x zoom.

Recent green-colored official renders of the phone showed off the newly-launched Redmi K20-like glass sandwich design with four rear cameras including the much-touted 64MP primary sensor. Three cameras are laid out in a vertical layout while the fourth one is spotted separately on just right of it with LED flash.

The camera module also includes a fingerprint scanner which is in contrast with the rumors that Redmi Note 8 series will come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Also, confirmed is a 4,500mAh battery with 18W fast charging support for the handset, though previously a bigger 5,000mAh battery was being predicted.

To build the hype Redmi also posted ultra-clear camera samples of its 64MP camera on Weibo. One of the pics showed a poster image clicked with 64MP resolution while another one featured Di Wang Tower, probably showing ultra-wide-angle capability of the camera.

According to the latest leak, the Redmi Note 8 series will also be gaming oriented as it will come with several gaming features and accessories along with a liquid cooling system that will keep the phone about 4-6 degrees cooler resulting in longer gaming sessions with no performance lag.

MediaTek has confirmed via Weibo that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will be powered by new Helio G90T SoC which is tuned for gaming. The SoC is capable of delivering Mali G-76 GPU and 64MP camera support. The Helio G90T SoC on theory is a better upgrade over the Snapdragon 660 SoC used in the Redmi Note 7 series.

Other spec details of the Note 8 series are not known as yet but the grapevine is delving into to find out more. Hopefully, ahead of the August 29 launch, we will be having more clues to the spec sheet of the devices. So stay tuned for new updates in this regard.
