The Galaxy A-series catering to mid-range and upper mid-range smartphone segments has brought Samsung back in the business after the latter ceded some grounds to affordable Chinese brands, especially Xiaomi.
In 2019, so far, the South Korean tech giant with a renewed vigor has launched a flurry of Galaxy A-series devices that are selling handsomely across several markets. And seemingly the company is planning to gain a head start for the next year as well.
An official video teaser posted by Samsung Vietnam confirms that 2020 version of Galaxy A-series is already on its way to make the debut as early as December 12. The video stopped short of revealing the names the upcoming phones, but it could be the rumored Galaxy A51 which will start the proceedings.
An unmade smartphone shown in the video features a centrally aligned small punch-hole cutout on the upper portion of the display with extremely non-existent bezels. The design matches with the previous renders of the Galaxy A51 which have already cropped up online.
The alleged smartphone is also said to make it to other markets, but when that will take place that was not specified, though it could be done before the end of the current year.
Samsung has kept everything to its chest with regard to the alleged Galaxy A51, but the grapevine is abuzz with the supposed specs of the upcoming smartphone.
Per the rumors, the Galaxy A51 is expected to rock a 6.5-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner and a punch-hole cutout similar to what is there in the Galaxy Note 10.
The stamina will be derived from the in-house Exynos 9611 SoC mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB built-in storage. The smartphone is almost sure to run One UI 2.0 based-on Android 10 out-of-the-box while a 4,000mAh battery will back it.
The Galaxy A51 is likely to wield a 32MP selfie camera on the front, though rear-mounted camera configuration is still not known. Nevertheless, given the teaser that Galaxy A-series phones in 2020 will come with significant camera improvement, the Galaxy A51 could sport a 48MP or a 64MP primary sensor on the back as part of an L-shaped quad-camera setup.
The upcoming Galaxy A51 will be the successor to the Galaxy A50 and the A50s- a minor scaled-up version of the former in terms of camera and processor. Besides the Galaxy A51, Samsung is also rumored to be gearing up to unveil the more premium Galaxy A91 with Snapdragon 855 SoC sometime in December. So, stay tuned with us for more updates.
