Independent reporting on Android, the world’s most-used operating system.

About the publication

BestForAndroid is a reader-funded publication covering the apps, devices, fixes and streaming workflows that make everyday Android life better. No press-release journalism. No affiliate-first lists.

Six sections, one device. Everything we publish starts with the phone in your pocket.

Who we are

We started BestForAndroid in 2017 because the web was full of recycled “top 10” lists written by people who had clearly never opened the apps. Android deserved better. So we built a small team of writers, testers and fact-checkers who spend their working hours actually using the things they recommend.

Today we cover the whole Android surface: flagship launches, the settings menus nobody documents, and the obscure workaround that fixes one strange bug at 2am. If it runs on Android, we have an opinion on it. If we don’t yet, we soon will.

Our promise to readers

“We test the apps before we rank them. We break the phones before we review them. The reader comes first; the affiliate link comes last.”

What we cover

Six sections, organised around real questions.

Nobody thinks in categories like “Q3 mobile platform analysis”. You think “my battery is dying” or “what should I watch tonight”. So that’s how the site is organised: by the problem you have, not the taxonomy we’d prefer.

How we work

Three rules. No exceptions.

Test before we tell

Every app gets installed on real hardware. Every fix gets attempted before we publish the steps. If we haven’t used it, we haven’t reviewed it.

Fact-checked, twice

A second editor verifies every claim before publication. When Android changes, the article changes, and we log the update at the top of the piece.

Readers first, advertisers last

Affiliate links keep the lights on. They never decide a ranking. If a free tool beats a paid one, the free tool takes the spot. Always.

Spot a mistake? Tell us through the contact page. We fix errors in the article itself and note the change in its update log. The full standards are in our editorial guidelines.

A short history

Nine years, four turning points.

  1. 2017

Dedicated writers and a fact-checker join. Coverage expands into streaming and gaming.

  3. 2023

🔰 The short version

BestForAndroid covers Android from five angles: news, app reviews, mobile gaming, fix-it guides, and streaming. Every piece is written by humans, checked for accuracy, and updated when the platform changes. Which it does, constantly.
