Delete WhatsApp Group As Admin

Being the admin of the WhatsApp group, you are allowed to exit and delete the group whenever you want and it won’t take longer than a minute to do that, depending on the total number of participants in the group.

Here are the steps you need to follow:

1. On your phone/tablet, open WhatsApp Messenger.
2. Find the group you want to delete and tap on it to enter a group chat.
3. Tap on the group name located at the top bar.
4. You will see a list of all the participants, you need to individually tap on each participant’s name and then tap on the Remove button. Keep doing this until all the group participants are removed.
5. Now you need to exit the group by tapping on the Exit group option and then tap on Exit.
6. You will now see the option to delete the group, tap on the Delete group option and then tap on the Delete button.

This will delete all the messages, chats, and even the media files including videos, voice notes, and pictures unless you have unchecked the option to Delete media in these chats.

Delete WhatsApp Group As A Participant

If you are a participant of any WhatsApp group or you were added by someone to a group from which you want to remove yourself and delete the group from your phone then here is what you need to do:

NOTE: This won’t delete the group but you won’t be a part of that group anymore.

1. Open WhatsApp Messenger.
2. Find and tap the group you want to delete to enter a group chat.
3. Tap on the group name located at the top bar.
4. Scroll down and you will see a list of all the participants, right underneath that you will see the Exit group option, tap on it to exit the group.
5. Now you will see the option to delete the group, tap on the Delete group option and then tap on the Delete button.
