A new leak identifies the mystery device in Google’s Pixel 11 promo images as the Fitbit Edge, a screen-equipped fitness band. It reportedly offers notifications, GPS, and a week of battery, and it fits between the Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5. Google has not commented on the device or its release.
Google’s next fitness tracker is reportedly called the Fitbit Edge, based on exclusive images from Android Headlines. The band is said to have a screen, built-in GPS, an altimeter, notifications, and up to seven days of battery life, and it works with both Android and iOS. Google expects a launch this month, but it hasn’t announced a date.
Is the Fitbit Edge replacing the Fitbit Charge?

Google hasn’t released a new Charge since 2023, and I’d mostly written that line off as dead. The Edge looks like its spiritual successor: a small-screen band with GPS, elevation tracking, and automatic activity recognition. It also gets a handful of apps, including Google Maps, YouTube Music, and Find My Phone.
Notifications are included, but reportedly they won’t be as useful as on the Pixel Watch. That sounds like a downside, but if I wanted my wrist buzzing all day, I’d just buy a smartwatch. None of this is official, so I’m taking it with a grain of salt until Google says something.
How does the Fitbit Edge compare to the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5?

Google’s wearable lineup is starting to look like three clear tiers. The Fitbit Air is the cheaper, screenless option, and the Pixel Watch 5 is the phone-on-your-wrist option. The Edge sits in the middle, adding a display and notifications while keeping the Air’s week-long battery.
It also works with iPhones, which the Wear OS-based Pixel Watch 5 can’t do. The timing lines up with a Google device, model G8BL6, that reportedly appeared in an FCC filing as a wrist-worn gadget with a screen, Bluetooth LE, and GNSS, but no Wi-Fi or cellular.
What colors and design details leaked?

The renders show black, green, and orange, which seem to match the Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon colors from the Pixel 11 Pro series. The green model has a muted two-tone frame, while the orange one gets a brighter gold frame.
There are elongated buttons on both sides and a pinch-style release for swapping bands on the back. I don’t see a Stephen Curry edition yet, though Google already made one for the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5, so I wouldn’t rule it out.
When will the Fitbit Edge launch, and how much will it cost?
A launch this month makes sense, because waiting any longer risks missing the holiday shopping rush. The expected $149 to $199 price is only a guess based on past Charge models, which ran from $129 to $179, with the Fitbit Air already at $99.
I’d want it closer to $149, since a $199 band starts competing with Pixel Watch deals. If Google gets the price right, this could be the wearable I’d actually wear every day.
