Trevor Noah is hosting, Steph Curry is showing up, and Google still couldn’t resist telling everyone the bad news before the show even starts.
Google has confirmed its next Made by Google event for August 12, 2026, streaming live on YouTube at 3 p.m. PT and 6 p.m. ET. The company has already confirmed that Pixel 11 prices are going up, and reports point to a lineup of the Pixel 11 series including Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, Pixel 11 Pro Fold, Pixel Watch 5, and a first-party tracker called Pixel Tag.
How to watch the Made by Google event
The show streams live on YouTube on August 12 at 3 p.m. PT and 6 p.m. ET. Trevor Noah is hosting this time around, a step up from last year’s widely mocked Jimmy Fallon appearance.
Google has revealed the lineup includes NBA star Steph Curry, track and field athlete Chari Hawkins, podcast host Alex Cooper, and musician PinkPantheress, so this is shaping up to be more of a produced show than a straight product demo.
What Google already confirmed, before the leaks even started
Google has officially confirmed that Pixel 11 pricing is rising this year, and that the increase may extend to existing devices like the Pixel 10a. Under the hood, Google reportedly secured early access to TSMC’s 2nm production, and the Tensor G6 is expected to be the first 2nm chip in any smartphone.
An FCC filing also points to a new MediaTek M90 modem replacing the Samsung Exynos modem from past generations, with satellite connectivity still included. None of this is confirmed until Google says it on stage, but a chip supplier filing and an official pricing statement are about as close to guaranteed as leaks get.
The Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro camera changes
The standard Pixel 11 is rumored to keep a telephoto lens after all, reportedly capable of up to 30x digital zoom from a 5x optical sensor. It’s expected to hold a 6.3-inch display at 1,080 by 2,424 resolution.
The Pixel 11 Pro is rumored to push that further, up to 120x digital zoom off a higher resolution 48MP telephoto sensor.
Both phones are said to drop the 128GB storage tier entirely, starting instead at 256GB, and the Pro model is rumored to ship with 12GB of RAM as standard, with 16GB only available if you pay for the 512GB storage upgrade.
Colors reportedly include Fuchsia, Light Sterling, Moss, and Midnight Haze for the standard model, and Dune, Light Fog, Midnight Haze, and Pine for the Pro line.
Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pro Fold battery rumors
The Pro XL is expected to carry a larger 5,115mAh battery on its 6.8-inch display, compared to 4,850mAh on the smaller Pro.
The Pro Fold is rumored to feature an 8-inch inner display, but its battery is said to drop to 4,800mAh from last year’s 5,015mAh, which is the kind of number that makes me want to see real battery testing before I trust the marketing slides.
Pixel Watch 5 and the first Pixel Tag
The Pixel Watch 5 is rumored to arrive in 41mm and 45mm sizes, with and without LTE, running the same Snapdragon Wear W5 Gen 2 chip as last year’s model and staying at 12.3mm thick. The upgrades sound modest: a small battery bump, improved sleep tracking, and a new feature that can call for help if the watch stops detecting a pulse.
Alongside it, Google is expected to finally launch its own tracker, the Pixel Tag, reportedly using ultra-wideband for precise tracking on the Find Hub network and priced around 35 euros in Europe.
Don’t expect much on Android XR smart glasses or the rumored Googlebook laptop. Google already covered XR extensively at I/O, and Googlebook reports point to a fall reveal, possibly at IFA, not this stage. This is a phone event, and after confirming its own price hikes before the keynote even started, Google has some explaining to do.
