What is TM WhatsApp
TM WhatsApp is a modified WhatsApp client built by Titus Mukisa. You install it as a sideloaded Android APK, and it sits on top of the regular WhatsApp protocol while adding privacy controls, theming, and bigger media limits that the official app leaves out. Your phone number, contacts, and chat history stay on the same WhatsApp backend. Only the local Android client changes.
Two kinds of people end up here. Some want hidden read receipts, longer status durations, and a UI they can recolor, so they come for the privacy side. Others want to send larger video files, post seven-minute statuses, or auto-reply to incoming chats, so they come for the workflow side. One APK covers both.
The mod is free. It ships sideload-only, outside Google Play, with the usual caveats that come with unofficial WhatsApp clients. Meta does not authorize it, account bans can happen, and there is no Play Store update path. If you want a straight baseline to compare against, look at the official WhatsApp Messenger.

- Hidden ticks and online status. Hide the two blue ticks, the second grey tick, the typing indicator, the recording indicator, and your last-seen timestamp, all on a per-contact basis.
- Anti-revoke for messages and statuses. Read deleted messages and view deleted statuses even after the sender pulls them. Both directions are covered.
- Extended media limits. Send large video files, share up to 100 photos in one go, and post status videos up to seven minutes long instead of the 30-second default.
- Theme engine and font picker. Pick from thousands of community themes, swap the system font, recolor the chat background, and change the header style and bubble shape.
- Auto-reply and scheduled messages. Set a default reply for missed chats, line up messages for later delivery, and set away-mode windows.
- Chat lock and DND. Lock single chats behind a fingerprint, pattern, or PIN. Turn off network access for TM WhatsApp alone when Do Not Disturb is on, without touching your other apps.
- Status downloader and one-hour status. Save any incoming status to your gallery with one tap. Post a status that lasts up to 60 minutes if your recipients run TM too.
- Anti-ban routing. Traffic is tunneled in a way Titus calls anti-ban. In practice bans can still happen, but they show up less often than they did on older WhatsApp mods.

What this mod offers over WhatsApp
The modified build of TM WhatsApp 9.70 keeps the WhatsApp account model and chat protocol intact, then bolts on a settings layer the official client never exposes.
- Privacy panel above the contact level. Tick and online controls you set per contact, not just the global toggles WhatsApp gives you in Settings.
- Larger media envelopes. Bigger video uploads, seven-minute status, a 250-character status caption, and bulk sends of up to 100 images at once.
- Theme and typography control. Full visual control through the TM themes panel and the font picker, including chat bubbles, header style, and home tab layout.
- Anti-revoke and status saver. Read deleted messages, view deleted statuses, and save any status to your gallery without screen recording it.
- Workflow helpers. Auto-reply, a message scheduler, DND mode, chat lock, and a call blocker sit in one menu, so you skip the third-party add-ons.
How to install
TM WhatsApp installs through the normal Android sideload flow. If the official WhatsApp is already on your phone, back it up first. TM cannot run next to the official client on the same phone number.
- Back up your WhatsApp chats. Open the official WhatsApp, go to Settings > Chats > Chat backup, and run a fresh local backup so your messages come with you.
- Uninstall the official WhatsApp. TM WhatsApp signs in with the same phone number, so it cannot coexist with the regular client. Remove WhatsApp from your phone before you go on.
- Download the APK from this page. Tap the green button below the article. The file drops into your default Downloads folder.
- Allow installs from this source. Open Settings, search for
Install unknown apps, find your browser or file manager, and turn the permission on. - Open the APK and install. Tap the file in Downloads. Android's package installer shows the permissions list. Tap Install, wait for it to finish, then tap Open.
- Verify your phone number and restore. Enter your phone number, complete the OTP, and choose Restore from local backup when it asks. Your chats and media come back in the new client.

FAQ
Is TM WhatsApp safe?
TM WhatsApp is not signed by Meta and not handed out through Google Play, so it does not pass Play Protect or the Google security review. The build Titus Mukisa maintains carries an anti-ban routing claim, but unofficial WhatsApp clients always carry a real risk of account suspension when Meta's server-side checks flag the traffic. Install it only if you accept that risk.
Can TM WhatsApp run side-by-side with WhatsApp?
Not on the same phone number. TM WhatsApp uses the WhatsApp protocol and signs in with the same SIM-bound account, so the official app and TM cannot both be active on one number. Use TM with a second number, or replace the official WhatsApp on your main number.
