Why people pick the Insta Pro build
The official Instagram app gives you no way to download a photo, reel, or story from inside it. It also tells people when you have read their message, shows a typing indicator, and lists every account that opened a story. Insta Pro by SamMods is one of several community mods that hand those controls back to you.
The mod runs on the same official Instagram base, so the home feed, reels, direct messages, and search all behave normally. The difference shows up in settings. A new SamMods section adds toggles for ghost mode, anonymous story viewing, translation, app lock, and triple-tap to download. You will not find these behind a paid tier on the official app, because the official app does not include them in the first place.
One thing to be clear about before you start: this is a third-party mod. It has no connection to Meta, and Instagram’s terms of service ban modified clients. A lot of people run it on a spare login rather than a main account they would hate to lose.

How to install the APK
- Back up Instagram data first
Open the official Instagram, go to Settings, then Account Centre, then Your information and permissions, then Download your information. Wait for the export email before you sideload anything.
- Uninstall the official Instagram app
Insta Pro uses the same package name as Instagram, so the two cannot run on the same profile. Either uninstall the official app first, or put Insta Pro in a separate work profile.

The APK lands in your Downloads folder. Check that the file size matches the value listed above so you know the mirror was not corrupted.
- Allow installs from your file manager
Open Settings, search for
Install unknown apps, pick the file manager you are using, and turn the permission on. Android only asks for this once per source. - Open the APK and tap Install
The installer lists the permissions it needs. Confirm, wait for the bar to fill, then tap Open. Sign in to Instagram and the SamMods menu shows up under the main Settings tray.
