What is VSCO

VSCO is a photo editor and photographer community app from VSCO Inc., the company that started life as Visual Supply Company. It built its name on film-emulation presets, the look that shaped how a whole generation of phone photographers edited their shots. The free tier gives you about ten filters and the usual slider toolkit. The paid VSCO Membership opens up more than 200 curated presets, deeper color and tone controls, video filters, Montage compositing, and Recipes, which let you save a full edit and reuse it later.

Two kinds of people reach for VSCO. Casual editors apply a quick filter before posting to Instagram or their feed. Serious mobile photographers lean on the Membership tools for HSL work, split-toning, grain control, and the fine adjustments it takes to hold one film look across a whole shoot. Both groups use the same toolset. The difference is a yearly subscription that costs roughly what you pay for a streaming service.

The modded build covered here opens every Membership feature without a subscription. Think of it as a try-before-buy reference, a way to see what the paid VSCO tier actually gives you. If you end up editing every day, the official subscription is what keeps the people behind those presets in business.

Key features

  • Film-emulation presets. The original VSCO library of analog film looks, from Kodak Portra to Fuji Pro to the newer A and C series, each named so you can chase a stock you already know.
  • Full slider toolkit. Exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature, tint, sharpening, clarity, vignette, grain, and fade. This is the basic shelf any mobile editor needs to keep an edit looking deliberate.
  • HSL and split-toning. Hue, saturation, and lightness sliders for each color band, plus shadow and highlight tinting when you want a stylized grade.
  • Video editing with presets. Drop the same film looks onto video clips, trim them, color-correct, and stack edits across a short reel.
  • Montage compositing. Layer photos and video with masks, blend modes, and motion. It is the closest thing to a mobile design tool tucked inside a photo editor.
  • Recipes. Save any mix of preset and slider settings as a Recipe, then apply the whole thing to your next photo in a single tap.

What this mod offers

The modified build of VSCO 463.1 unlocks the full Membership feature set without the yearly subscription. The preset library, the advanced editor, and the video tools all act as if a Member account were already signed in.

  • All 200+ presets unlocked.

Every Membership-tier preset pack is selectable inside the editor, including the AL3 favorite and the curated film-emulation collections.

  • Full advanced editor.

HSL adjustment, borders, grain control, video filters, and the Studio organization tools that sit behind the paywall in the free tier.

  • Montage and video tools.

Multi-layer Montage compositing and the full set of video presets are accessible without a sign-in or active subscription.

  • Recipes without limits.

Save unlimited Recipes for one-tap reapplication, with no cap on stored edit combinations.

  • No subscription nag screens.

The Member upsell screens that interrupt the free workflow on save, share, and feature taps are removed.

  • Clean export.

Final exports ship without VSCO branding or watermark, matching the experience the paid Membership delivers.

How to install

The install is just the standard Android sideload routine. On most phones it takes three taps, assuming you have already let your file manager install apps.

  1. Download the APK file.

Tap the download button on this page. The file lands in your default Downloads folder.

  2. Allow installs from this source.

Open Settings, search for Install unknown apps, find your file manager or browser, and toggle the permission on.

  3. Open the downloaded APK.

Tap the file in Downloads. Android's package installer opens and shows the requested permissions.

  4. Tap Install.

Confirm the install. Wait for the progress bar to finish, then tap Open to launch VSCO.

  5. Skip the sign-in.

If a sign-in screen appears, dismiss it. Membership-tier features should be active in the editor immediately.

FAQ

Is VSCO free to use?

Yes, VSCO is free to download, with about ten preset filters and the standard slider toolkit. Most of the curated presets, the advanced editor, video filters, and Montage compositing sit behind the paid yearly Membership.

Does the mod log in to a VSCO account?

No. The mod skips the sign-in step and unlocks Membership-tier features right on your device. You will not show up as logged in, and any community features that rely on a server-side account may not work. The filters and editor tools run fine offline.

Will the mod update automatically?

No. Modded builds do not pull updates from the Play Store. When VSCO ships a new version with a fresh preset pack, you have to grab and install the next mod release by hand. We refresh this page as new mod versions show up.

What is the APK size and Android requirement?

The current mod build runs about 102 MB and needs Android 6.0 or newer. The APK is universal, so the same file works on both arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a devices.
